Happeo is expanding and we are adding more integrations to G Suite. In order to make these integrations, we need to add 3 new scopes to G Suite. These "scopes" are API endpoints that applications can access and create the backbone of all integrations.
What do you need to do
A G Suite Administrator needs to open the G Suite admin panel and navigate to the Marketplace apps section (Apps > Marketplace Apps) and from there open the Happeo application. Or just open from here: https://admin.google.com/AdminHome?fral=1#AppDetails:service=249335902903&flyout=data
From here you can see a blue link: "Grant data access". Click this, go through the wizard if needed and you are golden.
Now you can refresh Happeo and you can see that all integrations are working again! Simple as that :) Ps. it may take 1-2mins to take effect, so don't worry if the data access is not instantaneous.
What has changed
We removed 2 scopes and added 3. The scopes we removed were old Google+ scopes that have not been in use for awhile.
We added these 3 new scopes and below a breakdown on what these will be used for:
- Calendar resources read only
- Organisation Unit read only
- Domain read only
This will be used with the new calendar we are releasing within a month. It will be glorious and awesome :) and will obviously have calendar resources integrated.
This will be used to improve our user and licensing synchronization process. Previously we needed to generate the org unit paths from the user data, which left empty organization units missing. This fixes that issue.
Domain read only
This will be used to determine all secondary domain addresses. It is very useful when you are adding a user from a secondary domain that we don't know yet. Instead of creating a non-org user in these cases, we will be able to determine that this user is within your organisation.
What if you don't accept these scopes
All integrations to G Suite will not work. This includes user and group sync + any interactions, for example Drive, Calendar, Gmail etc..
