This article details Page Templates, namely what they are, and how to manage them.
What is a Page Template?
Page Templates are pre-made Page Groups that can be accessed from the Pages Navigation by clicking the + symbol.
Page Templates enable you to scale your content creation and create Page Groups fast and efficiently. You can learn from best practices by no longer having to start from scratch.
By creating Page Templates, Page Groups can become more standardized and consistent within your environment.
Permissions
Page creation rights
You can only access templates if you can create Pages. Users who can't create Pages would not be able to access Templates, as they would not see the "create new Page" action (the + icon at the top right corner of the Pages Navigation).
Editor-only rights with no Page creation rights
Users with editor-only rights who don’t have permission to create Pages will not be able to access Templates, and therefore will not be able to see the "create new Page" action.
Quick actions
Your Template experience will adjust so that the most relevant quick actions are available to you. If you have the right to edit a Template, you will see the following quick actions when you hover over a Template in the Templates Catalog:
- Edit Template
- Share template
- Copy Template
- Archive Template
If you only have the right to view and use a Template (with no editing rights), you will see the following buttons:
