What is the Page Feed Widget?

How to set up the Page Feed Widget

To add pages to the page feed widget after placing it in a section:

  1. Click the Select Page button located in the center of the widget.
  2. To add all pages within a page group: Search for or scroll through the list of page groups and select the desired page group. All pages within that group will be automatically added. You can then filter out specific pages by clicking the down arrow next to the page group and deselecting those you don't want to include.
  3. Alternatively, to select specific pages within a page group: Click the down arrow next to the page group to expand it, and then select the individual pages you wish to include. This allows you to choose pages without adding the entire group.

Important note: The page feed widget allows you to display pages from only one page group at a time. To showcase pages from multiple page groups, add separate page feed widgets within the same section.

Configure

  • Select page – Select pages from a page group that you want displayed in the widget.
  • Layout – Choose between a grid or a list view
  • Show hero image – Display the hero images of the selected pages.
  • Show description – Include the description of the selected pages to provide context.
  • Ignore current page – Hide the page the user is currently viewing from the page feed. Use this when the page feed is displayed on a page that is also part of the selected page group, preventing it from showing itself in the feed.
  • Widget header – Add a header to the widget. Once toggled, you can type the widget’s header in the text field that appears above the widget.

Styles

  • Background color – Select the background color of the section. The colors available to you will depend on what the system default is and the brand style you are using.
  • Background image – Select a background image from the following sources:
    • Recommended image – Happeo’s AI will suggest options from Unsplash. You can regenerate or refine the image using the provided tools.
    • Select image – Choose an image from Google Drive, SharePoint, or OneDrive.
    • Upload from computer – Upload an image from your computer (recommended ratio is 4:1)
    • Browse Unsplash – Search for and select an image from Unsplash.
  • Border – Add a border around the widget. You can resize the border width, select the border direction (between 0px and 100px) and border color.
  • Shadow – Enable a shadow effect for the widget. You can then select the shadow's darkness level: small, medium, or large.
  • Padding Adjust the amount of background visible behind the widget. You can set a value between 0px and 100px. A larger value will show more of the background, making the section header and content appear smaller. A smaller value will minimize the background visibility, making the widget appear larger. Adjust the slider to fine-tune the amount of padding.
  • Round corners Round the corners of the widget between the values 0px and 100px. A larger value will make the widget corners appear rounder, whereas a lower value will make them appear sharper.

FAQ

Can I reorder the pages within the page feed widget after selecting them?

You cannot directly drag and drop the order of pages within the page feed widget itself after you've selected them. Think of the widget as a display – it shows what's already organized elsewhere.

To change the order of pages, you'll need to adjust the order within the actual page group you selected for the widget. If you have owner or editor permissions for that page group, any changes you make there will automatically be reflected in how the widget displays the pages.

How do the individual permissions page groups or pages affect whether users can view them in the page feed widget?

The ability to see and click on page groups or pages within the Page Feed Widget is directly controlled by the permissions set on those individual pages or page groups. If a user doesn't have at least viewing permission for a specific page group or page, the widget will indicate that the page group or page content is restricted, even if they have access to the page where the widget is located.

To ensure that everyone who can see the page containing the widget can also see the content within it, you need to grant at least viewing permissions for the selected page group or pages to the same users or groups who have access to the main page.

Is there a limit to the number of pages I can display in the page feed widget?

While there isn't a technical limit to the number of pages you can display in the page feed widget, it's a good idea to be mindful of how many you include. Too many pages can make the widget feel crowded and potentially overwhelm visitors to your page.

If a page in the selected page group is updated (e.g., title, description, hero image), will the page feed widget automatically reflect these changes?

Yes, the page feed widget will automatically reflect any updates made to the page group or pages selected. So, if you change a page's title, description, or hero image, the widget will update accordingly.
