Admin Settings: Search

What is the Search tab? 

The Search tab in Admin Settings allows you to configure how people in your organization discover knowledge and resources across your intranet and integrated tools. By tailoring these settings, you ensure that employees can quickly find what they need—whether it’s a policy, a project update, or a file from an external system—without jumping between multiple platforms.

You can access the Search tab by clicking your Happeo Avatar > Admin Settings.
Here you’ll see all the available Connectors—the different sources that can appear in Search AI generations, Search Predictions, and Search Results.

Connectors include:

• Internal Happeo sources: Channels, Posts (Articles, Announcements, etc.), Pages, People, Launcher, Sites, Hashtags.
• Enabled Integrations: E.g., Google or Microsoft applications.
• Federated Search Connectors: External platforms brought into your intranet.

Integrations and Connectors

Depending on your setup, you’ll see different Connectors available in the Search tab.

Integrations might include:

• Google Drive, Calendar, Gmail.
• Microsoft OneDrive, Outlook, Outlook Calendar.

Federated Search Connectors expand your reach into other platforms such as:

• Box, Dropbox, Confluence, Jira, Trello.
• Salesforce, Slack, Zendesk Support & Guide.
• Miro, Google Cloud Search.

💡 Tip: If your organization runs solely on one platform (e.g. Microsoft 365), it’s best to disable Connectors from the other platform. This reduces noise in results and avoids confusion for employees—for example, Microsoft users won’t see Google search tabs they cannot access.

Search AI, results, and predictions

Within the Search tab, you’ll find controls for how each Connector behaves. This includes whether its data is:

• Enabled for Search AI (AI generated answers).
• Shown in Search Results (after hitting Enter).
• Displayed in Search Predictions (suggestions while typing).

Search AI

Search AI goes beyond keyword matching. It interprets queries and generates clear answers by pulling from your intranet and enabled Connectors. Instead of employees sifting through dozens of files, they get concise, contextual responses—boosting productivity and reinforcing the intranet as the first stop for knowledge.

Results

Search Results are what employees see after pressing Enter in the search bar. This can include content from Happeo as well as enabled Connectors, helping unify fragmented sources into a single knowledge search.

Predictions

Search Predictions appear instantly as someone types in the search bar. By surfacing likely matches early—whether it’s a colleague’s profile, a project page, or a file in Dropbox—employees waste less time navigating and more time acting.

Adjust Connector settings

Each Connector in the Search tab can be customized:

• Toggle features: Use the dropdown arrow to enable/disable Search AI, Results, or Predictions.
• Manage sharing permissions: Control who can access the Connector’s results.
• Open the Marketplace: By selecting Manage app, you’ll be directed to the Connector’s Marketplace page, where you can update or uninstall it.

These controls give admins the flexibility to balance discoverability with security—keeping sensitive data protected while ensuring employees still have access to the knowledge they need.

Organize Search Connectors

When employees search in Happeo, they’ll see quick filters aligned with the Connectors you’ve enabled. These filters help them refine results instantly (e.g. Pages vs Slack).

You can reorder filters to match organizational priorities. For example, you may want Pages and People to appear first, followed by external tools like Salesforce or Jira. To do this:

1. Click your Avatar and go to Admin Settings > Search.
2. Click Reorder in the top-right corner.
3. Drag and drop Connectors to your preferred order.
