Learn how to describe the page you need, hand the Pages Agent your source files, and get a structured, on-brand draft back in your page group, ready to review and publish.

🎯 Who this article is for: Page group owners, page group editors, and admins who build pages in Pages 2.0.

💼 Package requirements: Creating pages with AI is available to Starter, Growth, and Enterprise.

🔒 Permissions: Creating a page with AI requires edit access to the page group.

🧪 Experimental: Create with AI is an experimental release. It is available to use today, and we are still refining it based on how teams use it, so results and behavior may change. Always review a generated page before you publish it.

1. Overview

Most pages start the same way: someone has the information, in a document, a deck, or their head, and needs to turn it into a page people can actually use. Create with AI takes care of that first build. Describe the page you need to the Pages Agent, attach the files it should work from, and it builds a complete draft page in your page group: title, sections, widgets, and text, laid out and styled to match your organization's brand styles.

The page builds in the background, so you can move on to other work while it's created. When it's ready, you get an in-app notification and the new page is waiting in your page group as an unpublished draft. Nothing goes live until you have reviewed it, edited what needs changing, and published it yourself.

2. Use cases

  • Give existing documents a proper home on your intranet: Policies, process guides, and onboarding decks often live in files that are hard to find and harder to skim. Attach the file, ask the Pages Agent to build a page from it, and the content lands in a structured page in the right page group, in one official place where the team that owns it can keep it current.
  • Start from a draft, not a blank page: Launching a new team hub or project page usually means deciding on a layout before writing a single word. With Create with AI, you describe what the page is for and who it serves, then spend your time refining a working draft instead of building it one widget at a time.
  • Help every team get pages up quickly: Teams maintain their own content best when they can create a new page the moment they need one. Anyone with edit access can describe what they need in plain language, and the result follows the brand styles your organization has already set, so pages stay consistent across teams without extra coordination.

3. Before you begin

  • You need edit access to the page group where you want the new page to be created.
  • If you want the page built from existing material, have your files ready. Create with AI can work from Google Docs, Google Slides, PDFs, and images stored in Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft OneDrive, or Box. You can add up to three files per page.
  • Files must come from one of these connected sources. Uploading a file directly from your computer is not available in Create with AI.

4. How to create a page with AI

  1. Navigate to the page group where you want to create the page.
  2. Click the pencil icon (top-right) to open the page editor.
  3. In the left-hand navigation, click the Pages tab.
  4. Click Add page, then select Create with AI.
  5. In Page name, enter a name for the page.
  6. In Description & prompt, describe the page and what it should include. Be specific about the topic, who the page is for, and the sections you want to see.
  7. To build from a file, click Select or upload file. In the Files picker, choose a source (Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft OneDrive, or Box.com), find your file, and click Select.
  8. Click Create.

The page usually takes a few minutes to build.

Note: You don't need to wait on this screen. Open another page or carry on with other work. The page keeps building in the background.

5. Review and publish your page

  1. When the page is ready, you receive an in-app notification: Your AI-generated page is ready to review, alongside the page name.
  2. Open the page from the notification, or find it in your page group's navigation. Until it is published, the page shows an Unpublished label, and its navigation tab is marked with a hidden icon. Only editors of the page can see it.
  3. Click the pencil icon to open the page editor, then review and edit the content as you would any other page.
  4. When the page is ready, click Publish.

Tip: When you publish, you can choose to notify the people who have access to the page, so the new page gets seen from day one. See Notify Users When You Publish or Update a Page for details.

6. Best practices

  • Write your prompt like a brief: "Create a page about onboarding" leaves the AI to guess. "Create an onboarding page for new sales hires that covers their first-week schedule, the tools they need access to, and who to contact with questions" gives it a clear purpose, audience, and structure. The more detail you give, the less you'll need to change afterwards.
  • Add your source instead of relying on the prompt alone: Without a file, the page is written from your prompt, so specifics such as timelines, owners, and process steps may come out generic rather than reflecting how your organization actually works. Adding the policy, deck, or guide you already trust grounds the page in your real content.
  • Ask for verbatim text when the wording matters: For policies or legal content, add an instruction such as "keep all text from the attached file verbatim" to your prompt. The AI then focuses on structure and layout rather than rewording.
  • Check every detail before you publish: Read the draft as if a new hire will rely on it tomorrow. Confirm facts, figures, links, and images, and make sure any people or channels the page references are the right ones. Publishing is the moment the page becomes official, so that's where your review counts most.

7. Frequently asked questions

Can I create several pages, or a whole page group, at once?

No. Create with AI builds one page per request. To create several pages, repeat the steps for each one.

Is Create with AI the same as the AI Assistant for Page Groups?

No. The AI Assistant for Page Groups answers questions for the people reading a page group. Create with AI is for the people building it: it creates new pages for you to review and publish. You don't need the AI Assistant enabled on a page group to use Create with AI.

Can I create a page with AI from Claude through Happeo MCP?

Not yet. Page creation through Happeo MCP is on our roadmap. For now, Create with AI is available inside Happeo's page editor.

8. Troubleshooting

I see "Failed to create page with AI" after adding a file

Check that the file is a supported type (a Google Doc, Google Slides, PDF, or image), then add it again and click Create. If the error keeps appearing with the same file, contact our support team and share the file so we can look into it.

My page hasn't arrived, and I haven't received a notification

Check your page group's navigation first, in case the notification was missed. If the page isn't there, repeat the steps to create it again.

I can't see Create with AI under Add page

Confirm that you have edit access to the page group. If you do, check which package your organization is on: Create with AI is included in Starter, Growth, and Enterprise. On a legacy or custom package, contact your Customer Success Manager.
