What is it?

Miro is the online collaborative whiteboard platform that enables distributed teams to work effectively together, from brainstorming with digital sticky notes to planning and managing agile workflows.

The Miro Search Connector enables you to search for content from Miro through Happeo.

The features of the Search Connector include:

• Miro results show in your Search Suggestions
• Adds a new search tab for Miro results
• Clicking on a Search Result will open your Miro desktop app if installed (or browser if not installed)

With access to your Miro account, Happeo’s Miro Search Connector can:

• Retrieve information about boards, board members, and items

How to install

To install the Miro Federated Search Connector, you can:

1. Navigate to the Admin Settings by clicking your Happeo avatar and selecting Admin Settings
2. Click Apps
3. Select (or search for) the Miro Search Connector
4. Click Add to Happeo
5. Once you’ve clicked Add to Happeo, you will receive a notification stating that you’ve installed the Search Connector successfully. To finalize this process, you will need to enable the Search App in the Search Settings. You can click Take me there within the notification to complete this process
   1. If you don’t receive a notification, you can also select the Search tab within the Admin Settings
6. Within the Search tab, find the Miro Search Connector and toggle the options you wish to have enabled. You can choose between / both:
   1. Show in search (full search overview)
   2. Show in search predictions (search bar autocomplete)

How to uninstall

Uninstalling the Miro Search Connector is simple! 

As an Admin, you can:

1. Navigate to the Admin Settings (by clicking your avatar)
2. Go to Apps
3. Click the Miro Search Connector
4. Select Uninstall
5. Click Yes, uninstall

How to authenticate

Once the Miro Search Connector has been successfully installed, regular users must authenticate the app. 

As a regular user, to authenticate the app, you can:

1. Type in what you are looking for in Happeo’s Search Bar and hit Enter
2. On the left side of the page, you will see a list of apps enabled by your platform admin. Click Miro
3. A message will appear indicating that you have not authorized the app. Click Authorize and follow the instructions
4. Once you have logged in and authorized the app, you can go to Happeo and refresh the page. You should now be able to view Search Results in both the Search Predictions and the Search Overview for Miro (depending on what the platform Admin has enabled in terms of the Search App Settings)

Now, you can start searching for any query in Happeo’s search menu which will show the results from all the available and authorized applications. By clicking the Miro icon when searching for something in the Search Bar, the auto-suggestions from this app will be displayed.

FAQs

Can I integrate with multiple Miro teams?

Currently, it's not possible to integrate Happeo with multiple Miro teams. This limitation arises from an API constraint, as we are required to perform OAuth for a particular team. Consequently, you will only have access to search results for Miro boards associated with the specific team you've designated. Rest assured, we have plans to enhance the search connector's capabilities in the future, enabling you to connect seamlessly with all your environments.
