Learn how to update settings, publish content, and keep your page group working well for your organization over time.
Pages 2.0 refers to the new version of Happeo Pages, released on April 2, 2025. All Happeo accounts created from this date onward use the new page editor by default.
๐ฏ Who this article is for: Page group owners, editors, and admins who are maintaining or updating an existing page group.
๐ Permissions: Most management actions require you to be the page group owner, an editor, or a platform admin.
๐ผ Package requirements: Page group management is available in the Starter, Growth, and Enterprise packages.
1. Overview
A page group is most valuable when the information inside it stays current, consistent, and easy to find. Happeo gives page group owners and editors direct control over their content, so updates happen where the knowledge lives rather than passing through one person. Whether you are refining pages before they go live, keeping settings up to date, or checking how content is being used, everything you need is available from within the page editor.
๐ If you haven't created a page group yet, start with Create a Page Group.
2. Use cases
- Keeping department content current: Page groups let teams update policies, guides, and resources directly in Happeo, so your organization always has access to the most recent version of information without coordinating across multiple tools.
- Keeping pages visually consistent: Brand styles can be applied and updated across page groups, so all pages look the same and stay consistent as the organization evolves, without anyone needing to adjust each page manually.
- Publishing content as a team before going live: Multiple editors can refine and finalize pages together using bulk publishing, so a page group is complete and ready when it reaches readers, rather than pages going live one at a time.
- Tracking what content is working: Page insights show which pages are being read and how often, making it easy to decide what to update, expand, or remove.
3. Edit the page group name and description
To update the name or description of a page group:
- In the page editor, click the Settings button from the sidebar on the left.
- Edit the page group name and/or description.
- Save your changes.
4. Apply a brand style
Brand styles control the look of a page group, including colors and fonts. Applying a brand style keeps all pages consistent without anyone needing to set up the formatting on each page individually.
To apply a brand style to your page group:
- In the page editor, click the Styles button from the sidebar on the left.
- Hover over any available style and click the checkmark icon (Set active).
๐ Note: By default, the page group style is set to the active style configured in Admin Settings โ Branding โ Pages 2.0. Only admins and users with branding permission can set the default active style.
๐ To create and manage brand styles, see Create and Manage Brand Styles.
5. Edit pages
This section covers the tools available in the page editor when building and updating pages within a page group.
Undo and redo changes
To undo or redo changes, use the left and right arrows at the bottom left corner of the page editor.
๐ Note: Undo and redo apply at the page level, not per individual user. When others are actively editing, undoing a change may revert their most recently saved change. Use with care when others are in the page.
Discard changes
To discard all unsaved changes to a page, click the red Discard button at the top right corner of the page editor and confirm your choice.
Preview a page
To see how a page will look before publishing it, click the Preview button at the top right corner of the page editor. This opens the page as viewers would see it once published.
6. Publish, unpublish, and bulk publish pages
Pages in Happeo exist in two states: Draft and Live. The draft is your working copy, visible only to owners and editors. The live version is the published page, visible to everyone with access. You can switch between the two using the Draft and Live buttons at the top of the page editor.
Publish an individual page
- In the page editor whilst viewing a page, click the blue Publish draft button at the top right corner.
- Confirm the publishing.
๐ Note: If the page does not have a description, Page Review will appear automatically. Apply or reject the suggestions and click Publish draft again to finish publishing.
Bulk publish all pages
- In draft view within the page editor, click the white arrow on the Publish draft button at the top right corner.
- Select Publish all pages.
- Confirm the publishing.
Publish selected pages
- In draft view, click the small white arrow on the Publish draft button.
- Click Select pages to publish.
- Check the boxes next to the pages you want to publish. Click Select all to check all at once. Pages that are already live will be greyed out.
- Confirm the publishing.
Unpublish an individual page
- In the page editor, go to the Live version of the page.
- Click the red Unpublish button.
7. Transfer page group ownership
Ownership of a page group can be delegated by an admin from Admin Settings.
๐ See Admin Settings: Page Groups for instructions.
8. Track page group usage
To see how a page group is being used, navigate to the published page outside of the page editor and click the analytics (three-bar) icon at the top right of the page, next to the bookmark icon. This opens page insights for that specific page. Click through the pages of the page group to view insights for each one.
๐ Note: Page insights are available in all packages.
9. Continue managing your page group
The articles below cover additional things you can do with page groups:
- Edit a Page Group's navigation โ Customize how users move through the pages within your page group.

10. Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit to the number of sections and widgets I can add to a page?
No. You can add as many sections and widgets as you like. Keep in mind that a very large number of elements may slow down how quickly the page loads for readers.
Can I customize the fonts and colors used within a page group?
Yes, if the applied brand style is unlocked. Fonts and colors are controlled through brand styles. Admins can create and manage brand styles, and anyone with edit access to the page group can apply them. Colors can also be adjusted at the section and widget level within the applied brand style.
๐ See Create and Manage Brand Styles to learn more.
Can other editors see my changes straight away?
Yes, for changes made directly to page content including widgets, sections, and the page header. Changes to page group settings such as navigation, brand styles, and access and sharing will not show up for others until they refresh the page.
What is the difference between archiving and deleting a page group?
Archiving removes the page group from navigation but keeps it recoverable. Only the person who archived it can restore it straight away. If they navigate away, only admins can access and restore it from Admin Settings. Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone.
๐ See Archive and Restore Pages and Page Groups or Delete a Page or Page Group.
11. Troubleshooting
I updated navigation or brand styles but others are not seeing the changes
Navigation and brand styles are set at the page group level and will not update straight away for others who are currently in the page editor. Ask other editors to refresh their browser to see the latest changes.
I accidentally changed or lost content on a page
Use the undo button at the bottom left of the page editor to revert the change, as long as the page has not been published. If the page has already been published, you can restore a previous version from page history.
๐ See View Page History and Revert to Previous Versions.
I cannot enter edit mode
The page may have reached the maximum of 50 people editing at the same time. Each open browser tab counts as a separate editing session. Ask other editors to close unused tabs or exit edit mode, then try again.
